Event Date:
Monday, May 4, 2015 -
6:00pm to 7:30pm

Texas Impact, the state's oldest and largest interfaith network, invites you to attend a Better Neighbors presentation at Texas Impact´s new Weslaco offices co-located with the Rio Grande Valley Baptist Association at 617 W. Expressway 83 on Monday, May 4, 2015, at 6:00 pm

This event will feature Texas Impact staff in a discussion of water issues in Texas. Presenters will discuss how local congregations can partner with state government in the water planning process for their communities and throughout the state. Texas Impact staff will also present details about the Community Partner program to assist eligible residents to access Texas benefits on-line. The Weslaco team brings a new project to the Rio Grande Valley called Welcoming Communities to address emergency humanitarian issues along the Texas border.

The entire presentation is a part of Texas Impact's Better Neighbors initiative. Better Neighbors seeks to educate and engage local congregations to be  "Better Neighbors” - by reaching out to people through direct service and policy implementation. Each month Texas Impact provides resources for a "Focus of the Month" campaign on unique topics to inform local communities of faith how they can partner with the state to implement public policy at the local level.

Texas Impact is a non-profit, non-partisan network promoting civic engagement around public policy issues of shared concern among our member denominations. Our members include denominational bodies, individual congregations, and tens of thousands of individual Texans of faith (More info at www.texasimpact.org)
